Orthopaedic manipulation therapy

Manual therapy is defined as a clinical approach utilizing specific hands-on techniques, used by the physical therapist to diagnose and treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function.

pelvic floor rehabilitation

Pelvic floor rehabilitation is an approach to improving the strength and function of the muscles that support the bladder, urethra and other organs within the pelvis. These muscles, called the levator ani or the pelvic floor muscles, stretch from the pubic bone to the tailbone, creating the "floor" of the pelvis. The urethra, vagina and anus pass through small openings in this muscle group. The levator ani may be damaged or lose strength and tone due to aging, childbirth, surgery, illness or other conditions.

Pelvic floor rehabilitation uses the principles of physical therapy to provide a structured program for reconditioning these muscles. Our program is staffed by physical therapists who specialize in urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

therapeutic taping

Therapeutic taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the range of motion.

Therapeutic Taping is often used as an adjunct to rehabilitation. There are many different types of tape that can be used for a variety of different reasons. Overall, the techniques implemented by a rehabilitative specialist are used to promote healing of tissue that has previously been injured.
